A landslide occurred on National Route 158 (in Shioya, Nyukawa Town), causing a complete road closure from Shioya, Nyukawa Town, to Hataboko, Nyukawa Town. The reopening date has yet to be determined. Passengers traveling in standard vehicles should use city roads as a detour. Large vehicles, however, will be unable to travel from the town side of Nyukawa Town to Hirayu, Okuhida Onsenkyo.

We ask everyone visiting Oku-Hida Onsenkyo in winter to drive safely. Please take a look at this educational video on driving on snowy roads produced by the Takayama Police Station of Gifu Prefectural Police and the Takayama National Highway Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
