There is no end to the sights to see, including landscapes created by nature, impressive waterfalls, and villages where mountain village life still thrives. The Shinhotaka Ropeway takes you straight up to an altitude of 2,156m, where you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Northern Alps. With easy access to Kamikochi and Mount Norikura, you can also enjoy sightseeing tours based in Oku-Hida.

Hirayu Campsite

This camping paradise is filled with untouched nature within Chubu Sangaku National Park! All of the car sites are undivided free sites with a capacity of approximately 200 cars, and bungalows and permanent tents are also available. Okuhida Onsenkyo Auto Campground

A great location surrounded by the nature of Oku-Hida. The Takahara River flows in front of you, and Mount Yakedake in the Northern Alps spreads out before your eyes. The outdoor baths, separated by gender and exclusive to campers, are free to use as many times as you like within the designated time limit. It's also a convenient base for sightseeing.

Shinhotaka Ropeway

Take Japan's first double-decker gondola to a world above the clouds at an altitude of 2,156 meters. The 3,200-meter-long Shinhotaka Ropeway offers a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the Northern Alps, including Mount Nishihotaka, Mount Yari, and Mount Kasagatake. At the summit station, you can enjoy a walking trail through the primeval forest, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery from May to October.

Fukuchi Fossil Museum

The Fukuchi Fossil Museum is a place where you can see many fossils of marine creatures that lived approximately 400 million years ago, during the Early Devonian period of the Paleozoic era, long before the age of the dinosaurs, discovered in Fukuchi. The fossils were preserved and collected by Satoru Yamakoshi of Fukuchi since the 1960s, and were later used as a museum in the folktale village of Fukuchi Onsen.
