Northern Alps
Okuhida Onsenkyo is surrounded by famous mountains such as the Yari-Hotaka mountain range, Mt. Norikura, and Mt. Kasagatake, the highest peak in Gifu Prefecture. These mountains are known as the "Northern Alps" and are also designated as part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park.

From Oku-Hida Onsenkyo, you can see the magnificent Northern Alps, with its chain of 3,000m-class peaks, including Mt. Yari, the Hotaka mountain range, and Mt. Norikura. The easy access to the Hida Mountains from the hot springs at the foot of the mountains makes it one of the few special locations in Japan. Using the Shinhotaka Ropeway, you can quickly ascend to an altitude of 2,156m, making it popular with beginner and intermediate albinists.
